The On-Off 2252 key switch is a maintained screw terminal switch lock that comes with two 2252 keys. The keys are tested to work in most 2252 locks from different manufacturers. However, it is important to note that the keys are not universal and different manufacturers may have different versions of locks and keys with this 2252 key code. The key cannot be removed at the 3 o'clock and 12 o'clock positions and the switch does not have positive detents in the on and off position. Some customers have reported issues such as the guts falling out of the back of the switch or a key breaking off in a remote control. Overall, if you need a key switch where the key is not removable in the on position, this switch could be an option.
