What's is 'skintex leather'? Is that some proprietary synthetic or is it real leather?
Answer: I believe it's a hybrid synthetic leather, I will say that these are very durable I have 3 pair and all 3 are still like new and they are used 3 times a week for kick boxing -

Do they cover the toes?
Answer: Depends on how big your feet are. Really though, when your kicking your toes should be pointed down. Nothing will cover them enough to prevent you from jamming a toe from an improper kick. -

Are the Elite shin guards made with a blend of skintex leather and buffalo leather like the Venom Predator shin guards?
Answer: I’m not sure but it’s lasted me quite awhile. Like over a year of hard use. -

Answer: Does not have a loop. Strap attached to pad on one end and closes with Velcro with the strap attached to other end. -

Answer: The weight of the XL shinguard's was 1.40 lbs. The M and L would not be that much different in the weight. -
