The Symbol DS9208 Corded Omnidirectional LED Desktop Barcode Reader is a plug and play device with no additional software needed. It comes with barcode sheets that allow for modifications to be made by scanning them. The device can be used with USB connectivity with any device. It is a great scanner as it senses any barcode added in front of it and scans them accurately. The screen is approximately 2 1/2" diagonal and the bottom is about 3 1/2" from the counter top and can be tilted up or down. One reviewer mentioned that they had an issue with it not working correctly when they plug it into the computer each day, but it will work correctly after disabling and then enabling the scanner. The device is Motorola technology but is branded as a Symbol product and this needs to be reflected. Despite the difficulties in setting it up, the scanner works well once installed and configured.
