Pink Floyd Format: Audio CD Rock Editorial Review
**** The Pink Floyd album "More" often evokes a range of expectations among listeners, especially given its place in the band's discography as a soundtrack album. Upon diving into this release, many listeners express an initial skepticism that quickly transforms into pleasant surprise. The standout elements of the album include the vocal tracks, which tend to showcase the band's lyrical prowess and melodic depth. Reflecting on songs like “Green is the Colour” and “Cymbaline,” fans praise them for their beauty and emotional resonance, drawing parallels to later Pink Floyd classics. However, the album does have its rough edges. Listeners comment that while the lyrical pieces are adeptly composed, the instrumental tracks often come across as lengthy and less engaging. These instrumental sections, described as meandering and sometimes lacking in memorability, create a noticeable contrast to the stronger vocal tracks, leading some to feel that the album lacks cohesion. Despite these reservations, many listeners recognize "More" as a significant representation of a transitional period for Pink Floyd. While not deemed their best work, it showcases the band's early experimentation and development of sound amidst the backdrop of the late 1960s music scene. Many find the album most rewarding when approached in the right mood—ideal for late-night listening or introspective moments. Overall, "More" may be seen as an overlooked gem in Pink Floyd's catalog, a testament to their creative journey, with carefully crafted moments that resonate with both nostalgia and artistic growth. **
