antwoord: While it did a great job of cleaning engines, it is not recommended for use in a parts washer for your purpose. -

antwoord: If you have an older car with a distributor cover it, also cover the alternator, fuse box, and disconnect the battery. Avoid spraying the battery. The product is best used by hosing down the engine the night before to get off surface dirt with griot's car wash, and the next day when it is dry, use the engine cleaner and agitate it with a boar bristle brush, hose it off good, and dry with a microfiber towel. Also spray it with their engine detailer an wax the painted parts. -

antwoord: I have never had a problem. It is advisable to run the engine while spraying off the cleaner (not before) to avoid any problem. Well-maintained cars will prevent problems. -

antwoord: No, the engine is not running when you apply the cleaner or hose it off. -

Should I avoid any areas in the engine bay when using this? and will this strip paint if it was used on painted areas?
antwoord: I have used this product in all areas of the engine bay without any problems. Avoid spraying the battery, but that's it. This product has not damaged any painted finish. Griot's products are exclusively used for cleaning cars. -

antwoord: I use it on cast iron. Nothing on the bottle says anything about not using it on aluminum. -
