Its 100 percent North American maple HVX shells feature an advanced grain orientation for balanced frequency response, warmth and sustain. With 45-degree bearing edges and Suspension Tom Mounts, the shells resonate freely while maintaining precise tuning and stability through the most demanding performances. 10 and 12 rack toms, a 16 floor tom, 22 kick drum, and 14 snare drum round out this extraordinary kit. HVX Shells Provide a Solid Foundation At the heart of this DW kit are eight-ply HVX shells, handcrafted in DW's California custom shop. Their unique ply configuration and grain orientation produce a fat, punchy tone with outstanding projection. The kick and snare shells use an even more robust 10-ply construction for maximum low-end and sensitivity. Overall, the HVX shells give this kit a voice that cuts through on stage while maintaining nuance and warmth. Suspension Mounts Enhance Sustain and Stability DW's Suspension Tom Mounts attach each drum without restricting shell resonance. The suspension mounts isolate the drums from each other, allowing their tones to develop fully and preventing unwanted overtones from other drums. Your rack toms will sing with sustain and remain precisely tuned through hours of playing. Premium Chrome Hardware Provides Solid Support From the quarter-turret lugs to the low-mass claw hooks, every piece of hardware on this kit is built for performance.
