The hansgrohe 06510000 External Vacuum Breaker is a chrome-finished product designed to be connected to your wall-outlet so as to prevent back-flows. It allows air in so that you can drain the hose if you hold the hand-held shower down so that it can drain. The product comes with rubber washers to make the seal to the pipe with, and it has female inlet and male outlet the same as your shower head/hose. Although this vacuum breaker is not intended for potable water, one user thinks it could be used for an outdoor hose bib. The product serves its purpose and is easy to install without any wrench gripping pads, but its durability is questionable. Few users have reported a leaking valve after weeks of use while some report it only lasts for two years of daily use. The product should be held with padding to avoid scratching the finish while installing it.
