It works for wire as thin as 12 gauge and with any wire that has a gripple that fits on it. The tool can be used to tighten the BFast brace. Reviews show that the tool is effective and easy to use once you get the hang of it, but some customers found it a bit clumsy and awkward to use at first. One customer had trouble with the wire slipping through the teeth and another found that the wire grip part scarred the wire and could even tear it when used at or below recommended tension.
